Sridevi's first Hindi film as a full fledged heroine. Even the title was registered for her. Amol Palekhar played her leading hero to the film, which was a remake of her Tamil film Pathinaaru Vayathinale, with Kamal Hassan in the lead. Rajnikanth played the baddie. The said film was a super hit in Tamil and did average business in its Telugu version too. But the Hindi debute of Sri, was a flop. The film actually went unnoticed. It was directed by Bharathiraaja. The songs in Tamil were hit, especially the song - Sendhura Poove composed by maestro Illayaraja.
