This film is dubbed from a Tamil film titled 'Bala Nagamma' that was made in the year 1981. It got its Hindi title 'Jaadu Nagri'. It starred Sarath Babu opposite Sridevi. Now, you ask who is Sarath Babu? Lol... He is not very known to Hindi film circles. But he has been in the industry for quite sometime with memorable films like Sagar Sangam, Muthu and many Rajnikanth films. He is now a character artiste who acts in all South Language films. If one wants to remember he was also seen in the Hindi film Criminal who plays the villain. Enough of him, getting back to the film and Sridevi. She plays a magical lady who is been kidnapped by a woman to get magic powers from Sridevi, who transforms into a snake too. This film was inspired by the famous folklore of ancient times. Infact, this film has been made in all the South Indian languages with different actors in different eras. There has been two to three versions of this film. The film directed by K.Shankar was known for its spectacular costumes and sets and its music by Illayaraja and elaborate special effects.
