Another stale version of Sholay. Rajnikanth is a police officer. He is married to Swapna. Rajnikanth gets brutally murdered in front of the entire village on an Independence Day by Sadashiv Amrapurkar, the corrupt villain, who wants to rule India. Swapna loses her memory. Her brothers, Dharam pa and Vinod Khanna seek revenge. Jaya Pradha appears in a two minute role as Dharmendra's beloved, who is also murdered. Sridevi (as Rasberi) plays Vinod Khanna's sweetheart and she is the only grace in this nonsense film. She plays a village belle (more like Basanthi in Sholay) who helps Dharam pa, Vinod Khanna, Rajni, Swapna in the mission directed by Anil Sharma. This film was produced by Sattee Shourie (the ex mother in law of Boney Kapoor). During the making of the film, Sri was travelling in and out of Chennai.
