yeh LAMHE, yeh Film hum, barso yaad karengey!

My personal favorite film. Yash Chopra directs this beautiful love story. Although the film was a flop and many people never like the 'idea' of the film, I treasure it as the best film from Yashji and Sridevi. It was a successful hit in overseas countries. It also won Sridevi applauds and Filmfare Award. The film also came out with an International version, titled 'Indian Summer'.
Sridevi played an elderly Rajasthani woman (Pallavi), whom Anil Kapoor is fascinated with. But Sri is in love with Deepak Malhotra. Both marry and die in an car accident, leaving their small infant behind. Anil Kapoor who loved Sri very much leaves abroad and takes care of the daughter as a guardian with the help of Waheeda Rehman, back in India. The daughter grows up to be a young and beautiful Sridevi (Pooja). Anil, now is an old man. Sri, with her child like mannerisms later falls in love with the elderly Anil. But Anil does not reciprocate her feelings. But, at the climax everything is set right and they get married. Agreed, such relationships are hard to digest, but the way it is projected is indeed - wonderful. Anupam Kher gives ample support for the team. Shiv Hari composes hit music. All the songs are well tuned and rendered by Lataji, Hariharan.

A die hard Sridevi Fan!
