Style King Rajnikanth and Beauty Queen Sridevi starred in a couple of Tamil films and this was the one released in 1983 titled 'Adutha Varisu' directed by SP Muthuraman with melodious songs by maestro Illayaraja. The story goes thus: A young girl is born into a rich royal family. One day she goes to the temple with her mother and father. At that time her uncle kills her parents but she escapes but falls from a bridge into a river. After 25 years the girl (now Sridevi)s grandmother is in search of her granddaughter because she wants to give all her money before she dies and keep the royal family going. The uncle gets Rajnikanth to find a girl like Sridevi to inherit the property. When he finds one, the chorni (Sridevi) joins hands with Chor (Rajnikanth) and finally it is revealed that she is the only heir to the property.Sundeep Malani

This film is loosely based on Dharmendra- Hema Malini hit Raja Jani which in turn was remake of classic Yul Brynner-Ingrid Bergman starrer Anastasia(1956 which in turn was based on true legend story Anastasia and myths about lost Russian Princess.
