Mahesh Bhatt's Indian version of Bangkok Hilton. Rahul Roy and Sridevi (Roshni) are in love. Sri does not know the evil motives behind Rahul's love. He uses her for exploring drugs (without her knowledge). She gets caught and is behind the bars. Sanjay Dutt (Her fan, as Sri is a pop singer), loves Devi very much and helps her come out of the jail. Also in the process is her search for her father (Kher), who left her away when she was a kid. Aashiqui guy gets bashed up by the Saajan guy in the climax, and Chandni wins the heart of her fan! (my heart too). Sridevi gave an wonderful and award winning performance but sadly, she never won an award for the film.
