Boney Kapoor and Anil Kapoor's first assignment with Sridevi Ayyappan (who later joined the family and became Sridevi Kapoor). Infact, this was the first time Boney and Devi met. (Jab they met!). Lol!
This film brought Sridevi to the Number One position. She became the Numero Uno actress of Hindi cinema. She was really great in this film. She also won the Best Actress Award. Infact, the film should have been titled Miss India, instead. She plays Seema, the paying guest in the house of Anil Kapoor with a whole lot of children and Calendar, the cook (Satish Kaushik). She hates kids in the beginning, but then she starts adoring them later. Sri loves Mr. India (the invisible Anil Kapoor) and hates Anil Kapoor (the visible man). Later the identity is known. Mogambo Kush Huaa... (Amrish Puri) is the villain, everyone loved imitating.
The film was a golden jubilee hit and it has been watched by generations now..Even to this day, the film is being shown in various satellite channels with repeated runs.
The kids are all grown up to be matured enough. Aftab Shivdasani, Ahmed Khan (Choreographer), Kunal (Art director), Zeenat Dadi (actress) etc. are all doing good in their entertainment business.
The film will be remembered for the hit songs - Karte Hain Hum Pyar Mr. India se/Hawaa Hawaaii/I love you.. and the Parody Number.
Also.. one has wonderful memories of this film with those of Sridevi scenes.. the cockroach scene, the Football Parody number, the Hawaa Hawaii, the Charlie Chaplin scene and the sexiest Blue saree 'I love you' song. Shekhar Kapoor directed the film.
Now, the sequel is being made and looking forward for Sridevi back in action soon!
