Just imagine a film with Akshay Kumar and Sridevi... This pair was undoubtedly, a odd pair but with the histronics of the Khiladi and his comic timings and to which Sridevi's mannerisms and her acting calibres... this film should have been a blockbuster. But the sad part is that, it was a major failure. No one even knew when this film got released and one gets to watch it on small screen on an odd day. It was a worst film from the makers. Directed by Pankaj Kapoor (who gave Sridevi the best double role ever - Chaalbaaz).. finally, when the film got delayed in the making, Pankaj opted out and the film got completed by an unknown person (SM Iqbal). Forget it, even Sri and Akshay forgot the film and didnt even promote it. It took pretty long years to complete. And the end result being... that it was Bad! Sri didnt dub for the film and a jr. artiste did it. It sounded horrible. Many of the scenes looked like Ham scenes and moreover, the comedy looked like tragedy. The film was a remake of a Telugu hit done by Vijayashanti and the films Kannada version was done by Malasri.
Getting on to the story, Akki and Devi (Durga) are childhood friends, they grow fall in love and get married. Akki becomes a officer and moves to city, while Devi who is uneducated and does not know to speak English (!). While Akki is in duty, Sri makes herself occupied by solving the problems of her neighbourhood and falls in a trap. Akki comes to her rescue and says, Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin! Lol!
