With this film, Sridevi was the Queen Bee. Although Mr. India brought her to the Number One Position, with this film, it made more stronger and Sri ruled the Industry as a Emperoress. She was well appreciated for her performance as an Ichadari Nagin (the snake woman). Although earlier Reena Roy (Nagin) and Rekha have played Snake woman, Sridevi has been the best to date! The film ran for a continuous of 100 days and the songs of this film (Main teri dushman, in particular) was the regular week after week in DD's Chitrahaar. Harmesh Malhotra's film had LP music and T Series (Gulshan Kumar) sold the maximum number of cassettes and got the highest moolah with this film. Sri played Rajini, an ichadari nagin who takes form of a human and gets married to Rishi Kapoor. Rishi is not a snake, but his soul is of Rajini's dead hubby snake brought to life. Amrish Puri, as tantrik (looks ferocious) is on look out for Nagina (the diamond). The climax song was the best picturised by Saroj Khan. Other songs included - Bhooli Bisri Ek Kahani/Tune Bechain Itna Zyaada Kiya/Balma Oh Balma/Aaj Kal Aur kuch...The best scene in the film is the snake fight in the hospital.

Do you know that, Jaya Pradha was first approached to play the role, but she did not accept it as she was scared of snakes.. Good.. that Aunty would have made the film a flop.. Her tremendous loss is Sri's gain, who is very snake friendly, as she has worked with Snakes in her South Career couple of times.
