Sridevi plays Durga, a gypsy girl whose small happy family is gunned down by the villain Thakur Dharampal Singh (Kader Khan). She avenges revenge and from a gypsy outfit gets on to leather jackets and tight black shoes. She becomes a la Phoolan Devi - Sherni (Lady Tiger) and kills everyone responsible for the fate of her family and the fellow villagers. Shatrughan Sinha plays her love interest as a cop. The film was a disaster, but good to see for a change Sridevi playing the dacoit and running in horses. The film was directed by Harmesh Malhotra who gave Sridevi her career's hittest film till date, Nagina.
