Inspired by Raj Kapoor - Rajendra Kumar - Vyjantimala starrer Sangam, Ram Avtaar was directed by Sunil Hingorni. Ram (Sunny Deol) and Avtar (Anil Kapoor) both are good friends and both of them are in love with my heroine. My heroine loves Ram and also is friendly with Avtar. Avtar mistakes her friendship for love. Ram and my heroine (Sangeeta, Sri's name in the film) sing: Ungli Main Angooti, Angooti Main Nagina. But, she gets married to Avtar. They live happily as Devi forgets her past. But, with a character like Gundappa Swami (Shakti Kapoor), Avtar learns Devi's past. Confusions and misunderstanding arises. Ram and Avtar both want to sacrifice their love for each other. One consumes poison and another dies donating his blood. Actually he donates every drop from his body and so becomes weak, hence he has to unite the married couple and breathes his last. The film was a musical hit.
