A love story between a Harijan boy and a Brahmin Girl (Mithun and Devi). But as the romance blossoms with dance (not western, Paapam Shaapam.. oops, this is a K Vishwanath film, so its pure classical dance). Mithun plays the bansoori and Devi shakes her legs with paayal. And all the romantic songs are dance based (Main Naachoo.. tu bansi bajaa). But, they are not united as Sri is forced to marry Rakesh Roshan (it is his home production). But, as true love ends, both Mithun and Sri die hand in hand. (He is hit hardly on his head by the villagers and Sri as usual consumes poison - being the only remedy for her death in several movies).
