The Southie trend continues with Jeetendra, Kader Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Asrani and Aruna Irani. There was Jaya Pradha also to accompany her in several films. Infact, both Sri and Pradha were having tough competition to reach to the top level. Later, as on fate, Jayapradha vanished into glycerin and motherly roles while Sri was the heartthrob of the nation.
Coming back to this film, Mawaali, Sri played a tomboyish character Julie, while Jeetu (in a double role) shared both the heroines. Nowadays, lovers taken Kasam (promise) on their own, but this film had a song which went like 'Baap Ki Kasam, Maa Ki Kasam, Teri Kasam'. Indivar used to write lyrics and Bappi Da was the regular composer for South Indian Masala Movies.
Other notable song is 'Jhonpdi Main Chaar Paayee' and 'Char Baar Marenge, Ek Baar Ginenge' (Lol!)

Incidentally Sridevi played Jayaprada's role in tamil version Pokkiri Raja and Raadhika played Sridevi's role. Rajanikanth was the hero.
