First - Check out the spelling. Singapur! Lol! This original film was titled 'Priya' made in dual language simultaneously. Kannada and Tamil. The film was an average hit in Tamil, but Kannada was a disaster. Priya got dubbed in Hindi as Love in Singapur! Sridevi plays Priya, a film actress who is in love with Ambarish. She goes to Singapore for a film shoot (Actually, they shoot in Malaysia, Lol!) Rajnikanth, plays a lawyer who joins along with Ambarish to Singapore because Sridevi's life is in danger. Rajnikanth has an Singaporean actress opposite him. Sri gets kidnapped and finally the heroes rescue her. Illayraja's song was quite hit in the original versions which was sung by Yesudas and S Janaki. One of the famous song was 'Darling Darling Darling, I love you love you' in which Sridevi is in a swimsuit. The film was directed by SP Muthuraman.
