Late Mukul Anand directed this mega Muslim social drama, which had all the ingredients : Love, Songs, Action, Drama, Comedy in a stylish way. Shot in Afganistan, Sridevi played dual role of mother Benazir and daughter Mehndi to perfection. Well, we can always expect her to do everything in perfection! Just Imagine, a film of Bachchan and Devi dominates the film with her presence in dual roles. Her role was more powerful in this film. Amithabh and Sridevi fall in love and they get married. Danny is of a great friendly help to the couple. On a mission, Bachchan leaves to India and never returns back. Back home, Devi delivers the junior baby and after waiting for years together not finding Bachchan return, she becomes insane. Baby grows up in the shelter of Danny. Sri, now a grown up wants to go to India in search of her father. She comes to India and falls in love with Nagarjun. Shilpa Shirodhkar also has a soft corner for Nag. Sri meets her father, father meets wife (Sri), daughter (Sri), friend (Danny), son in law (Nag).
This film was a super hit film and had some memorable songs by Kalyandji Anandji. A must watch for both Bachchan and Sridevi fans too
