SADMA : Sridevi played the Perfect Child Woman

The Tamil version's magic was recreated once again in its Hindi version by Balu Mahendra. Moondram Pirai was remade as Sadma. Kamal Hassan, Sridevi and Silk Smitha formed the trio in both the versions.
Sri played Rashmi, a mentally retarded woman who loses her past memory in an accident, and she behaves like a kid. Prior to the accident, she is a normal young college girl. Kamal Hassan, not knowing the whereabouts about the girl, takes care of her and eventually falls in love. But tragedy strikes as Sri regains her memory and does not recognise Kamal at the end. A beautiful sentimental film, it won Kamal Hassan and Sridevi good reviews, rewards, applauds and awards. Illayaraja's lullaby rendered by Yesudas 'Soormayee Akhiyon Main' is soulful. The erotic number, 'Oh Babua' picturised on Silk Smitha and Kamal is a foot tapping number and one of the best choreography ever seen.
A special Note - Sadma is a masterpiece and has done with the best actors of Indian cinema - Kamal Hassan and Sridevi... It should not be ever remade at all!
